Fi.5H autodor opener is a fully programmable safety door opener for doors up to 1.4m wide, or 400kg. Fi5H has an internal closer spring to ensure a designated fire door will close (or open) in the event of a power failure.
The controller has over 30 parameter settings via a high vis' LED display. The diagnostics can report error codes back through the LED display. Fi.5H is EN16005 rated with safety device testing before each operation. There is an MTBF of 2 million operations for the most heavily used entrances.
The casing is in anodised aluminium satin finish. The slim design is suitable for door frames with only 90mm headroom.
Fi.5H features
The low power Fi.5L opener is designed for convenience doors up to 1.8m wide, or 200kg. There is an optional battery pack for closing operating in a power out, but no spring closing.
The controller is programmed via buttons and an LED display setting over 30 functions. Diagnostics are more limited. This Lite version is EN16005 rated with safety device testing before each operation. Edurance rating is 2 million operations.
A transmitter used to set traffic mode (one way, two way, or stay open). There is a mode switch on the end of the opener as well. The slim anodised aluminium case is suitable for door frames with only 81mm headroom.
Fi.5L features
The powerful Fi.5H opener is ideal for main entrance doors in public service. The Lite version is recommended for use in all other appliications, particularly on price sensitive projects.
The two openers fulfill the requirements of the EU safety. Fi.5H is also rated for fire doors using a closing spring. Both have provision for battery backup, traffic control, and a range of fitting hardware.

Outdoor gates carry the same responsibility to safety that pedestrian gates have. Building doors are covered by EN16005, while gates are have a lower standard set out in standard EN12453. So outdoor rated gate openers that have been adapted from door openers are designed to a higher standard.
TD openers have a brushless motor which is sensitive to contact pressure. Unlike building automatic doors, contact with the obstacle is currently still permissable on automated gates, thought this may change in the future.
TD has a built in control panel with 45 parameters controlling speed, force, and position. Setting is through a menu driven LED display. There is an electric lock output that can be set for a strike or locking magnet.
Articulated arm motors are ideal. Gates generally are not set in an overhead frame, so there is no lintel for the motor to be fixed to. They can be set at any height, but higher up is safer for pinch points. Articulated motors are more flexible on geometry. The mounting plate can be 250mm back from the line of the gate
Activation devices will be different. Sensors need to work in wet conditions without false triggering with rain, snow, and mist. The harsher environment sets different IP rating requirements.
Pedestrian gates are often lighter than glazed doors, though outdoor will need to deal with wind pressure. Max torque is 80N.m.
