Buttons & switches

Qube range

Qube buttons & switches are set in a cast aluminium surface housing 74x 74mm with an anodised aluminium panel and screw terminals.

Qube options

  • VY808s  n/o button
  • VY808i  illuminated button
  • VY808r  3 position switch
  • VY808k  rotary keyswitch
  • VY808t  wireless button

Electronic buttons

Electronic buttons are ideal for outdoor applications where the button needs to be illuminated and weatherproof.

VY806 handsfree buttons use infrared to detect a hand wave from 5 to 20cm away. There are internal adjustments for distance and delay time. The cast aluminium shell has blue indicator that goes green when it detects. The output relay with N/O & N/C contacts.

Chose from the 30Vac version VY806a or 12Vdc version VY806b.

VY804 is an illuminated capacitive touch button for 12Vdc systems. Chose N/O or N/C solid state volt free output. The bezel is plastic with aluminium facia.

Standard buttons

Standard buttons are no frills activation devices for mounting in sheltered places.

VY802 is an indoor rocker type release button for a standard single gang back box.

VY805 is a small surface mounting architrave button for narrow posts. Screw terminals. 30mm x 80mm

VY803 is a disabled button for archi-trave mounting. The whole stainless steel front is the moving part for easy activ-ation by any body part.

VY807i is an illuminated button in a weatherproof housing with a rain hood.

VY800 is a simple button on a flush mount aluminiium plate suitable for a standard single gang back box.

VY801 is a similar button on a stainless steel flush mount plate.

Spring return keyswitches

Spring return keyswitches are used on automated doors and gates for hold to run applications. The key os only removeable in the centre position.

Adding a handy relay can simulate a latching state, for example; open (left click) and hold open (right click).

FA63 is a two position centre off spring return keyswitch in a weather-proof cast aluminium surface housing.

FA61 is a two position centre off key switch in a plastic surface  housing.

VY807k is a two position spring return centre off keyswitch in a weatherproof housing with a rain hood. The barrel is a high quality eurocylinder for high use.

Auto-activation

Door activation that does not discriminate between users is not access control, but free access. Unlike free access buttons, these devices  auto-activate the door.

Careful positioning and focusing can be selective. Similar activation technologies are used for gate automation, and for example, are positioned to favour vehicles but not animals.

AIR & PIR sensors

AIR and PIR -

AIR are Active Infra Red sensors. An LED sends out a broad infrared beam, and a photodiode measures the reflected radiation. AIR sensors respond to hard and soft objects, but more so with highly reflective surfaces. The FA-T10 is a wired AIR activation device. FA-R10 is wireless.

Passive Infra Red sensors (PIR) are used in alarm systems to detect intruder movement. They measure movement of radiated heat (infrared). Not suitable for activating a door.

Microwave sensors

Microave -

These commonly used activation devices emit a broad beam of RF, often at 24GHz, and measure the frequency of the reflected waves. If there is no movement, the reflected frequency is the same as the outgoing beam. If an object is moving towards the device, the reflected frequency is higher. If the frequency is lower, then an object is moving away.

Microwave sensors only detect movement to and from the sensor, not across the field of view. They are inexpensive to make.

Camera sensors

Camera based recognition -

Cameras can be programmed to recognise human beings. The FA-K90 camera detects humanoid motion. The output can be set to open a door to people,  n AI

Microwave sensors only detect movement to and from the sensor, not across the field of view. They are inexpensive to make.

Toe switch

Clean rooms and hospital use a foot switch to activate the door. Just poke your toe into the hole.

Sensitive mats

Mats used to be common, but they wear out. Not recommended.
